Orchestral Programs

Concert Drama

Jennifer Sacher Wiley has made music education part of her mission as a conductor.  She has authored and produced original programs for school and community performances since 1999.  Dr. Wiley leads tours of the SU Orchestra and SU Chamber Ensembles to rural and urban school districts and communities, performing for young families and students grades K-12.  Orchestral “concert dramas” are also published and available for professional/community orchestras-  ideal for family concerts.

Susquehanna Strings

New in 2012, the SU Strings is a multi-faceted, community based program for SU music students to gain conducting and managerial experience, for intermediate level string players to have an orchestral experience, and for advanced string students to explore the realm of chamber music.

Susquehanna University Orchestra

Since Jennifer Sacher Wiley’s appointment to Susquehanna University in 1997, the orchestra has grown from a small string ensemble of 18 players to over 50 musicians presenting numerous varied programs of standard repertoire each year.  Dr. Wiley’s development of SU’s Orchestral Program earned her the University Teaching Award in 2007.
